Congressman Robert L. F. Sikes Museum

The Mattie Kelly Arts Center preserves, protects, and disseminates material culture associated with the public service of Robert “Bob” Sikes from 1940 to 1979, and dedicated the Congressman Sikes Museum in June of 2024. Sikes served as the longest-tenured representative of Florida’s 1st Congressional District, helping to develop the region into the thriving one it is today. Open during business hours. Destination Archaeology Resource Center

Located inside the Florida Public Archaeology Network headquarters in downtown Pensacola, the Destination Archaeology Resource Center is an archaeology museum open to the public. Inside you will learn about the amazing archaeological sites that you can visit and experience throughout the state. Our exhibits include displays about both land and underwater archaeology sites. We showcase heritage sites open to the public within the eight regions of the FPAN with traditional and interactive displays, including touchscreens, tablet computers and artifacts. Additionally, our museum hosts a variety of free exhibits, events, and programs throughout the year.

Doolittle Raid Permanent Exhibition

The Doolittle Raid was a strategic air raid by the United States on the Japanese islands during WWII. This exhibit opened in 2013 during the April anniversary, with three Raiders present for the inspirational tradition “Turning of the Cup” ceremonies. There are roughly 750 items in the collection maintained in the NWFSC College Library in the Susan Myers Learning Research Commons, Building 500, Niceville Campus. Open before Raider events.

Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida

Since 1971, the Heritage Museum of Northwest Florida has been collecting and preserving material culture pertaining to local and regional history. Historic Pensacola

The University of West Florida Historic Trust manages Historic Pensacola, which includes the Pensacola Museum of History, the Pensacola Children's Museum, Historic Pensacola Village, the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Hilton Green Research Library in downtown Pensacola as well as Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site and Homestead in Milton, FL. Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries

The Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries invite everyone on the Emerald Coast to discover a wide range of cultural experiences. As a creative classroom for Northwest Florida State College, our 2,700-square-foot of fine arts exhibition space in the McIlroy, Holzhauer, and Hallway Galleries at Building 110 on the Niceville Campus is filled with inspiring fine arts programs. The Galleries protect thousands of artworks and artifacts, ranging from ancient amphorae to Salvador Dalí watercolors. We also house the world’s largest collection of paintings by Emil Holzhauer, a well-known German expressionist master painter and a member of the New York Ashcan School Movement. MKAC also curates the Doolittle Raid World War II History Permanent Exhibition at Raider Sports Arena and the Congressman Robert L.F. Sikes Museum & Collection at the Crestview Center. Visitors are welcome to schedule tours and site visits, and we offer mentoring opportunities. Our volunteer and internship program lets you serve as a docent, care for artifacts, connect with artists, and get hands-on experience in the arts.
